About Emma Calveri, LAC

Healing through compassion…

I am deeply passionate about the intricate tapestry of human connections, while recognizing that relationships can be both the most rewarding and challenging aspects of our lives. From the moment we enter this world, we are wired for connection, and my journey has been dedicated to understanding the nuances of feeling safe and secure in our relationships with others and within ourselves. Through my clinical training and research in relational science, I’ve cultivated a profound commitment to helping others navigate and embrace this understanding. As a therapist, my collaborative approach aims to facilitate healing within individuals and their relationships, fostering a journey towards self-acceptance and connection.

In my practice, I specialize in working with individuals and couples facing a spectrum of challenges. Whether it’s navigating the complexities of depression, anxiety, relationship dynamics, sexual concerns, or trauma, my focus is on guiding individuals towards mindfulness, self-awareness, and the compassion necessary for personal growth. For couples, I am dedicated to enhancing communication, fostering emotional closeness, and addressing the unique aspects of their relationships. I’ve been trained in Emotionally-Focused Therapy, and I integrate therapeutic modalities such as Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, and various cognitive therapies. It’s my belief that this holistic approach empowers clients to find wholeness within themselves and build fulfilling connections with others.

Under the Arizona Sun

I was born and raised here in Arizona and my family has been braving the heat since the late 1800s. To say we love Arizona is an understatement! I received my bachelor’s and master’s degree from Arizona State University (Go Devils!) and had the wonderful opportunity to conduct research with the @HEART Lab and the Couples Coping with Stress Lab. I worked on projects ranging from identifying digital dating abuse to facilitating a couple’s workshop on coping with stress for LGBTQ+ couples. It was here, with great mentorship, that I fostered my commitment to studying psychology and uplifting the mental health field.

Outside of my work, I spend my time reading, gaming, cuddling with my dogs, enjoying quality time with loved ones, and doing my best to prioritize my own mental health. I am a big believer in practicing what you preach and will always be continuing my own therapy journey.

I genuinely enjoy the work I do. I look forward to meeting you and feel honored to be part of your healing journey.
