About Leslie Carrasco, LMSW

Welcome to this beautiful journey…

Sometimes starting therapy can be one of the hardest parts of the healing process and I see you and acknowledge what a big step that is. Within therapy, I’m dedicated to helping you navigate who you are and who you strive to be while also holding space for the journey you have experienced. My goal is to establish a safe and trusting relationship where you feel free to express the truest version of yourself. Everyone has individual needs and keeping an open mind as you enter the therapeutic setting will provide an opportunity to discover and embrace your unique strengths and personal truth.

I specialize in working with children (5 years old+), adolescents, adults, and families. I can help you navigate healthy boundaries, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, communication, attachment, and self-esteem. Within our therapy sessions, we will work with a unique plan of care which can include Motivational Interviewing, DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Play Therapy and sensory activities are the foundations of the therapy methods I prefer to use when working with children. One of the best things about therapy is trying new things and being creative during the process. I also strongly believe in a growth mindset and will be training on and incorporating more therapeutic modalities over time.

Home is where the Cactus is!

Born and raised in Arizona and still love everything there is to offer within the Valley of the Sun. I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work through Arizona State University. I started my counseling career working with children and families within the community. I have experience within the clinical setting, hospital setting, mental and behavioral health fields, and with people who have chronic medical and/or mental health limitations. I have 14+ years of social work experience and have enjoyed direct practice the most.

Beyond the office, I love reading and being outside. Going for hikes or on a walk/run is my favorite part about living in Arizona; the weather makes being outside such a beautiful place to be. I also cherish the time I get to spend time with my husband and three kiddos. I have three dogs who are a big part of our family, and I would consider them to be my “first children.” Some of my favorite things to do are travel and experience new cultures and environments. I especially enjoy food and trying new restaurants.

I can’t wait to meet you and begin our work together. I’d love the opportunity to support you and help you grow into the person you desire to become.
