It’s Never Too Late
Life is full of challenges, no matter what age, and it is never too late to start working on a life you deserve. My goal is to create a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship that helps individuals heal. I work with clients of all ages, including children, adolescents, young adults and adults and offer resources that promote behavioral changes in their personal growth. As a licensed professional counselor, I am fortunate to be able to combine two of my greatest passions: art and helping people work through life’s obstacles.
I apply an evidence-based therapeutic approach, recognizing that my clients are the experts of their own lives. My role is to guide clients to understand and discern where their problems stem from. I work with individuals coping with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, parenting, ADHD, negative behaviors, chronic illness, grief and loss, life transitions, and more!
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Play Therapy. I have also taken many additional courses such as Bullying for Adolescents and Parkinson’s for Seniors – and will continue to gain advanced knowledge in these specialized areas.
Life’s Journey
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago where the outside fields and creeks were our playground. We moved to Arizona when I was a young teen and have called Scottsdale my home since then. My passion has always been on the creative side whether it be painting murals, teaching art or decorating holiday cookies. I also love to travel and have had the opportunity to visit several countries throughout Europe, Japan and China.
I graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. I began my career as an art teacher then owned my own graphic design business until finally, I found my passion for helping people. I pursued my master’s in counseling from the University of Southern Arkansas and have truly been blessed to help many people and children work through life’s challenges.
It’s never too late to start your journey and it would be my pleasure to guide you through the process.
